Need some advice

Hey guys I have a springfield XD-9 and I have noticed the last couple range trips that I seem to be perfectly lined up sight wise, but I am shooting to the left. So I aim to the right side of the body silouette and it hits the target in the chest. Is there a way I can adjust my sights or do I just keep aiming to the right. thanks for the help.

P.S. I dont know if it makes a difference but the target is at the 10yd. line

First I think you need to determine if the shift is you or the gun.

Try a sandbag rest for a magazine full and see where it shoots, should tell you the answer right away.

i too have an XD9 (subcompact) and a XD45 i tend to be to the left a bit as well, but im to the left a bit on most pistols i shoot.

i was convinced it was the gun a one point so i had my buddy fire it and he was not to the left, he just looked at me and laughed.

this was at 25+ yards though... at the range i like to shoot at the farthest distance i can, i find it to be a bit more fun.

when i shoot short range... im pretty much dead on.

you can almost bet its you and not the gun... as much as i dont want to admit it i know my issue is me too. but im not far off enough to be concerned at this point.

there is a tool for adjusting your sights though, i dont recall the price but i do recall thinking i didnt want to buy it if i didnt have to lol.

Load up a dummy round randomly in a magazine so you don't know when it's coming up.

When it does, I suspect you'll yank the gun to the left.

If so, it ain't the sights, it's you.

thanks guys i had a feeling it was me but was hoping it was the gun. i think im going to try the dummy round idea next time that sounds like a good way to find out
