This somewhat non-firearm related, and I think you might at least find it entertaining.

Old rubber loose-fitting grip OUT
New camo burlap micarta and walnut grip IN

D.Douglas (knifemaker, engraver, friend) sent me some Camo Burlap Micarta last week, and I thought it would be perfect for this little project. Also used stabilized walnut for the center and 3 1/8" mosaic pins for a little custom touch. :D

I have pretty good sized, wide hands. And at 6'2", its to be expected. :) This wider grip actually helps fill my upper palm and shoots great for me!

Thanks John... :)

I'm working from home today... and fighting the urge to go out back and do some shooting..

I have a similar stock grip on my High Country 4 Runner and it is the BEST grip I have ever seen on a modern compound bow....although it is a 10 year old bow!

I have noticed that many brand new bows are going to smaller and smaller grip areas. While I understand the concept of minimal-contact, I like the wider shelf I now have to stabilize the bow front canting one way or the other...

I noticed that the new version mf mine had a much smaller, skinnier grip and I hated it. I also found out the grip I have won't fit the newer bow so kept the 4 runner and still have it. I can shoot group of six arrows all touching at 25yards so it is still very accurate and even fast by today's standards.

Thanks JB....

Sniper, yeah, I'd say that's plenty accurate enough... Here's my claim to fame so far... from 30 yards..

Those 2 arrows are still mated together and hanging on my wall.. :D

Steaks on the grill... MMmmmm..... sounds like a plan!
