I'll take one of the .380s. Looks very similar to the Steyr M9 and M40, which of course, stands to reason. Very cool!

Very cool gun, thanks for posting up the brochure. I'm curious what the price will be. I don't think this will make me wait on a P3AT, but it whenever it gets into stores I'll be there!

Is that an updated Sigma .380? With a thumb safety?

How Much, How Much, How Much $$$$ Any idears?, So it is about the same length as the P3AT, same width, but about an inch taller. I have about $450 in my P3AT with the laser....something tells me the S&W is gonna be a bit more.

The Bodyguard fires from a locked breech, has a stainless (rather than Zamak) slide, lever (rather than pin) takedown, an integral laser and second strike capability. So, except for the design, it's pretty much the same as a Sigma .380;)

I wouldn’t buy that for the same reason I dont buy gps factory installed in a car. The electronics will fail or become obsolete and impossible to repair long before the gun. A universal laser mount is a much better idea.

too bad they are forcing you to take the laser with the gun if you want it. Im not a fan of Lasers and don't care to give extra money for something i don't want on the gun to begin with.

oh well..

JOe

After it comes out and they get feed back as to how much more it costs than the competition, a year later the non laser version will appear.

I don't see why the laser wouldn't be a drop-in replacement part like any other part of the gun. We probably won't know for sure, though, until someone gets one to take apart.

And if it is drop-in replaceable, there will likely be aftermarket replacements offered by 3rd parties for things like different laser colors and alternative technology. . . high-intensity LED flashlight, cigarette lighter, antimatter grenade launcher, micro plasma cannon, etc.

It could be an issue of, when taking the slide off, the unit is afixed in the frame and can be unscrewed and replaced. That is true as well. And as was stated, there is really no reason to make absolute comments until after one is available for such tests. It's a good looking pistol and I hope the price isn't too high.

Kinda Pocket 9 meets Sigma with a laser... which, honestly is pretty cool. If I was LOOKING for a new 380, this would get my attention.

S&W is certainly catering to the CCW market.
