Many of us predicted more mini-.380 ACP guns at SHOT 2010, and here's the first of the batch:

It doesn't say if it's blowback or locked-breech. It better not be blowback... :uhoh:

I think of the new crop, only the Desert Eagle .380 has been blowback. It's an idea whose time is over (at least so far as .380).

EDIT: Length is good, as short as all the other new .380s. However, it's a good half-inch taller than the competitors, and no idea how thinness compares. Not that being the micro-est was necessarily S&W's goal, but still. Plus I'm not thrilled with the manual safety; I prefer pocket guns to be "point and click" interface.

Stainless Steel slide ! That beats the heck out of their "ZAMAK" zinc slide on their previous .380

For some reason to me it looks thicker than .75"...I wonder where they are measuring. I am probably wrong about this but it just looks thick. I guess it's just the way it is styled clicks in my mind.

great idea push more guns chambered in .380

It does look like a nice piece though.

With that little bit of extra grip, it's a bit less like a true pocket gun, but looking like an uber-compact belt gun.

It's really surprising how "respectable" .380 has become again in recent years. Apparently with some good defensive ammo to go along with it.

I like it or at least the looks of it.
It has real sights like my P238 and is about the same size. Whoever says you can not pocket carry it easily is badly mistaken.

Ooooo... I like this!....

Might be giving the LCP to the fiance... Come to me Smith and wesson!... hehehehe.

JOe

I like it! Kinda cluttered but its got some good lines. Hopefully they won't be asking an arm or a leg. But i'm like everybody else, I can barely find ammo so why are they making so many more and not ramping up ammo production like crazy!

Looks good but yet another answer to the the problem just don't seem to have. Nice looking little pistol but my question is this...being that .380 and 9mm are the same diameter; why can't the manufactures just chamber these pocket guns in 9mm? If purchasing something like this didn't require me to stock up on yet another caliber of ammunition, I'd be much more inclined to carrying one. :scrutiny:

Plus I'm not thrilled with the manual safety; I prefer pocket guns to be "point and click" interface.

Well hopefully a manual safety means it doesn't have to have such a long and heavy trigger pull like that on a keltec. Mouse guns are hard enough to fire accurately with their tiny dimension, and when you throw in a horrible trigger it really does become a gun only good for sticking under someones chin.

Its this reason why I am going to get a Sig P238 due to its nice trigger and manual safety.

I STILL can't find .380 ammo, why are they making these things?

because many of us can. every gun store near me has it. you can even find it online. hell, bud's had 380 in stock yesterday (they still might). ordered me another 500 rounds. :D
