I have an older Marlin 30A that is in great shape and shoot like a champ, but the wood (with its oak leaf and acorn press checkeriing) is a little dated. I have looked all around but cant find any replacement wood for this particular model. Anyone know where I can find a nice plain or modesly checkered stock for this gun?
What shte difference between the 30A and the 39A or the 336?

Thanks

The Marlin (Glenfield) Model 30A is just a plainer version of the 336. Plainer wood (usually beech) but mechanically the same.

The 336 is a centerfire action for rifle cartridges, the 39a is meant for rimfires. There is also the 1894 for centerfire pistol cartridges.

If you want a Factory Maple Stock for your 30A this one is the correct Stock. (bottom of the page, Item No. 406240G)

If you want something a little cheaper this one is made of Birch for $16 less. (not worth it IMO)

This is the link for any other parts you might need to restore your Marlin Model 30A.

Can you post any pictures of it before you start fixing it up?
