I don't see how this is at odds with responsible firearms ownership. I'm sorry if my attempt at humor and fun is at odds with YOUR idea of the forum. You might note that the person who designed the forum and brought it into existence participated in the thread. So I find your point about where this belongs to be arrogant, and more than that, simply false.

What was the point of your post anyway? Seems pretty inflammatory. Thats really all I get out of it, whatever message you might have had was lost in the disdain.

I don't think he meant any personal offense, winstonsmith...maybe some of us are just getting old.

In my realm of experience, the title of "wannabe" isn't something to aspire to.

Seems like when Skunk poses in his tactical bling-bling, no-one sees fit ring in with the sneers of the Oh-So-Grown-Up-And-Over-It set.

Some folks need to lighten up already.

To answer the question, no.

Frankly, these pics belong on a site dedicated to gangsta wanna-bees versus a board dedicated to the responsible use of firearms.

I must disagree...

And last but not least...

Don't get sore at me for regurgitating this stuff, people! :p Let's get some more new stuff in! :D

It's not the "wannabe" we aspire to. It's our desire to have the same stuff the big guys have because it's just... well, cool!

Well, I did take a pic or two...but I didn't get dressed up just for the pic...(George! Psst! GEORGE! Still got that pic of me in camo?)

Anyway, winston, when you do a combat shooting stance, be sure your elbows are locked in tightly, down toward your centerline. This will both give you more support through the skeletal support, and better let you control rapid fire.

John

Heh. Well nothing you guys haven't seen before.

Winston, take advantage of that crappy camera and mount it up high and it'll look as if it's a security camera. Then you can make it look like you're Sam Fisher or something!

Uh oh...another 'baller...

that's reformed 'baller. dumped the 'cocker, angel, and 'mag RT to fund the gun collecting. hyper ball was fun while it lasted, but damn expensive, almost as bad as gun collecting.

Oleg's edit makes Winston look like the poster boy for some banana republic communist. all he needs is a beret and we can nickname him Che.

Don't let em get you down Winston. Plenty of Hater-ade to go around so just ignore it. :uhoh:

I don't play dress up but that's mostly because all the gear is too expensive in my size..... :D

I hear that.

I'm back in the "game" after a six year hiatus of school, work, school and work.

Kept my oldschool mag since '93. Now I'm using an emag.

Hyperball is fun, but I have bigger fish to fry right now!

Dressin up is for either kids on haloween, wannabees or.....

The Real Deal

Above pic is from Mike Miller's Tactical Intervention website.... One of his customers was kind enough to send the pic of him in A-Stan with a TIS sling he used there...

Real or dressup?

hehehe

;)

Oh, do you mean, “play dress-up I used to. But then I stopped trick-or-treating, so I pretty much gave it up.

I’d wear some tactical gear when I was training, or if I was a LEO or in the military. (Hell, I have more ALICE gear, mag pouches, webbing and leather stuff than I could wear at once…that's the result of trades and "box lots"!!)

NUTSHELL: I have some tactical stuff, but you definitely won’t be finding any pictures of me wearing it!:D

right now my tactical rig consists of a chi-com sks and a plastic kroger shopping bag filled with stripper clips.

i will not be posting pictures.

OEF Vet, this was taken in a hot tropical place when I was with Recon, 3/187th, in 1990 and on the Z with 2/503rd Infantry prior to that.

I'm not a has been, I'm a "was".

Ever dressed up in web gear, tac vests, or anything ninja like and taken pics?
No. I did have a pic of me dressed up like a hollwywood assassin though. My hair was wet and pulled back tight, I was wearing a black shirt, black jeans, and a black full-length coat that stopped just above the ankles of my altama boots that were shined up like polished onyx. Cant remeber the firearms I posed with though...

One day a few years ago while dressed simular to that (without the guns) a little kid asked me if I was a cop. Although I know it was stupid, I couldnt resist to say "No, I'm a mercenary." He didnt know what I was talking about, but his mother did, and they left in a hurry, while everyone in the video department was rolling in the floor.

Willard,

Welcome, fellow Rakkasan. How long were you with 3rd BDE? I was an FO with 3/320 FA from MAY 97 until OCT 02. During that time, I was attached to A and C - 1/187, A,B,C, and D - 2/187, and BDE (first as a COLT team chief and then as BDE FSNCO(Rear) during Anaconda). Never got the chance to work with the 'Iron Rakkasans' though. But, I did get the opportunities to visit such lovely places as Kosovo and Assghanistan with the BDE.

BTW, the 'has-been' line was tongue in cheek.

OEF Vet, I figured the has been remark was a joke....

I was in the 187th in 1990-January through August, when I ETS'ed. Naturally, the Fates nailing me as they do, it was days later that Iraq invaded Kuwait, and the rest is history. It was (and is, I believe) one squared away unit. Being in the Scout Platoon was a great time, too, and a great way to finish my service.

1987-1989 2/327th Infantry, before Korea.
1982-1987 76th Div USAR-DI

You of course know how much we respect your good work in the Stan! HOOAH!
