my P239 was bought with 40 S&W. same mag's and bbl spring now supports a 357SIG bbl and a 9MM bbl. need a p250 for what?

In this setup, do you load the 357 Sig/.40s&w into the 10mm G20 mags? If not what do you use? That combo sounds like the perfect one handgun for everything.

My basic problem with this pistol is that I can't think of a single compelling reason why I would want to switch between a .357 sig, 9mm, .40, and .45 on anything even remotely resembling a regular basis. Actually, I will go one step further and say that I can't think of a compelling reason why I would ever want to switch between those calibers, period. I can see some vague utility in being able to switch from 9mm to .45, but that's really about it. Overall, this seems like an answer to a question no one asked, especially given that the conversions are pretty expensive. Expensive enough that simply buying a different gun per caliber (Although all I shoot is .45 and 9mm)doesn't seem like a bad idea.

The four different loads you can shoot from the G20 platform all use the 10mm mags. The 357 SIG and .40 are both the same OD as the 10mm, as is the 9x25... all you need is a different barrel for each load.

We've had one handgun for everything for a long time. It's a .357 with a 4" barrel. There is not much that needs to be done with a handgun that a 4" .357 cannot do and do well without the need for any extra parts.

I looked at them for a long time. Then I remembered a few things.
1. Why buy one gun in four calibers when I can buy four guns?
2. I haven't liked .40 S&W when I've shot it, and its expensive.
3. .357Sig is more expensive.
4. 9mm hydrashok does the trick for me, 9mm is cheap range ammo, and I got all the Sig quality and the cheap range ammo in a compact pistol when I bought a P6 this weekend, for less than half the price of a P250.

Get the G20 and screw the caliber conversions. Once you have a 10mm Auto, the .40 and .357 SIG seem rather dull, and unnecessary. If you want .40 Short and Weak performance from your 10mm, just load one of the FBI-Lite loads on the market and enjoy(?).

How about the EAA Witness? It has offered a single frame with slide and barrel options in .22 rf, 9mm, .357, .40, 10 mm, 41 A&E and .45 for years.

It is available in SA or DA and in poly or steel - fullsize or compact.

What is your revelation?

Oh, and I forgot to add.

In the US you may not be limited to how many guns you have. But, in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and in Africa you may be limited to how many pistol frames you own. Having a single frame that will adapt to many calibers may be very worthwhile given those circumstances.

However, so far the SIG is a 9. That's it. Not very impressive.

FWIW, I have converted my 7.62x25 Romanian Tok ($209 for a refurbished example) to fire 9x19 Luger, and 9x23 Winchester with just a barrel change and a 9mm bushing. The 9x23 Winchester gives me 357 Magnum ballistics in the Tok, and the 9x19 gives me very cheap practice ammo, as the brass is everywhere, and I reload.
I'm thinking of taking some 223 brass and cutting it down to 25mm, which would basically give me a 9x25 Mauser Export (not 9x25 Dillion!!) with another modified 9mm barrel (the barrels only cost me $36). This would be incredibly strong brass. I figure with that, I could probably match 44 Magnum power levels. This would be just for grins, as I don't really see the need for more than the 357 Magnum power levels. I do not intend to go handgun hunting where I would need more than that. It just would be fun to see how far I could go with it in such a lowly platform.
