About 10 years ago I was forced to sell my Spainish Garbi 16ga. SLE. It was a beautiful side by side that is now worth twice what I sold it for. I also learned what it meant to "carry like a 20, but kill like a 12" with that shotgun. It would sweep the sky of pheasants and they would hit the ground dead right there. My dog appreciated that, I think. Anyway, I am now retired and would like another, last shotgun to mess with: either 16 or 20 gauge, side by side, double trigger in the English stock design. A box-lock would be fine under 6.5lbs. Now the hard part: under $1000. What say you folks? Thanks for your time.

For under 1,000, look for a used Ugartechea (Uggie) on sites like gunsinternational.com. You MIGHT be able to find an older AyA (as in 50's, 60's, or 70's)

http://www.gunsinternational.com/AYA-453-16-gauge.cfm?gun_id=100106857 nice AyA but double your budget - (just for comparison)

Look for a Laurona. They are Spanish-made and are low-priced but reasonable quality guns. Another option might be a Zabala in that price range.
