About the same size and weight. The P-11 carries six more rounds than the J frame, but also has a wider grip which prints more. Which one is the better pocket gun?

Just me but - I'd not actually rate either (for myself) to be true pocket pieces ... due to bulk aspects. Much as I love J frames and their ilk - in this choice situation I'd go P-11 actually.

Folks will vary on this, of course - maybe finding those sizes well manageable but I reckon ''pocket'' in the true sense tends to be mainly including the P-32, P3AT, NAA Guardian, R9, Seecamp - etc ... really pretty small guns with a very low printing prob in right pocket and right holster.

Only my 2c mark you!! :)

I'm with P95 on this one. I had a P11 and can't imagine trying to conceal it in a pocket, at least not in the pants I wear. A J frame, particularly if it is one with a concealed hammer like the S&W 642, is much easier to conceal due to its shape. I have carried an Airweight J frame on occasion in a pocket but it only works well with certain pants. Having said that I normally carry a NAA Guardian .32 in my pocket and never worry about it printing.

I had this same problem a year or so ago, I went with the p-11, it's lighter and has twice the capacity. I carry the p-11 in my front left pocket just about everywhere I go, or on the belt when I can't get away with the CZ 75.
It is flat and lacks the distinctive bulge of a revolver. I usually wear old navy cargo shorts, it also fits nice in most of my dress pants. I ended up getting j frame too, this will ride in the coat pocket in the winter, and probably get thrown in the pocket to back up the p-11 if it is riding on the belt.

I'm seriously thinking of selling my P11. It's a nice carry gun but DAMN that trigger is long. It really screws up my shots, and forget about fast follow ups.

After alot of practice with the p-11 I can do pretty well with it. I practice shooting it weak handed from retention, as I carry it in the weak hand pocket. I can dump the mag into the guts of a paper bad guy PDQ. The only time I hate the gun Is when I dry fire it, it really feels like a toy, but with live ammo it feels like a gun more like a cannon.

I carried a Grendel P-12 for about 9 years. The P-12 and
Kel Tec P-11 were designed by same man, and the P-11 is just a hair larger. My present carry is an old model Charter Arms Undercover .38 which is the same size as a "J" frame. I feel the Charter Arms carries better in a front pants pocket.

Depends on the pants, I bet M.C. Hammer could of pocketed an AK while you could count the change in Robert Plants front pocket. I am somewhere in between with my roomy cargo pants, but even my off the rack dress slacks accamodate either of the two choices easily.

Kinda depends on how you dress and what you have for pockets. I often pocket-carry a Kimber UC .45ACP in my warm-weather shorts. A good pocket holster is essential (Eric Larsen -hbeleatherworks.com- made mine).
