Plasticized AK

IMO wood has no place on a gun. It was only used in the beginning because aside from heavy metal, it was the only option. Now we have much more durable, longer lasting, won't split with a hot load, won't scratch materials.

And this is why I love the USA. We can agree to disagree - I dislike plastic on a gun designed/built originally with wood. :)

This just shows us what people can do with an AK: Regardless if you like wood or plastic. I need to get on the ball and convert mine.

Shark is saying that the AKM is an assault rifle (we're using military terms here for military-spec [full-auto] weapons), whereas the RPK is a squad automatic weapon. The RPK essentially fill(ed/s) the same role as our M-249. Would one think of the M-16 and M-249 as being the same? Nope. The RPK just so happens to look like the AKM.

SimpleIsGood - Thank you, that's what I was getting at. And as far as the cookies, you can't have my chocolate chips. I like them WAY too much. :D I would give ya a couple, but you ain't exactly a next door neighbor.

Modernized AKM

I'll never go back to wood.

No laser? Wannabe.
It's on the other side..lol you don't think I would go to all that trouble with out putting the Fenderskirts on? Geez man when you're dressing up your whore you have to put all the makeup on..

Sweet frickin guns, H2o, Sarduy,Hanz and
Throttle jockey.
My bipod switches between my AR and Remington 30.06 as does the Aimpoint. It is not a permanent fixture, nor is any device on my weapon...I switch and mix and match to suit my ever changing "Firearm Fashion" moods.

I'm like a non gay Fashion Director for my guns...I like to dress them up, take pictures and then take advantage of them when they are not looking...

I like classic and plastic...still have to get a classic. Thing is, once you've seen a few classic style AK's you've pretty much seen 'em all. One of the reasons I chose an AK is because you have so many different options to dress them up different and have a gun that's personalized.

You can throw money at an AR all you want and it still looks like an AR. Look at some of the highly customized AK's and some folks ask "what is that?" JMO

i do agree that the bipod is a bit much. but it IS your money and your project, ive seen far far worse. dont you grind your knuckle on it when holding the vertical grip?
