Plasticized AK

Wow. Trully tacticool:p I have never seen a standard AK with a bipod and light. This is the second one I've seen with rail and scope.

Vachss, my AKM is also Cellulose Intolerant

Get that Termite food off my AK! :neener:

.

I dunno. There's something very weird about a Harris bipod on an AK.

Yeah, it doesn't look right. Never really though of the AK as a bi-pod worthy rifle.

That Aimpoint looks a bit high. Then again that's personal pref.

My AK is also plasticized.

I had a quad rail on mine but took it off because it really made it too heavy forward. Having a vertical foregrip that far forward got tiring too since my arm was so far out from the body. So now I've got the K-Var heat shield lower on it and I just hold the front of the magazine. Nice and tight. The muzzle brake is FUN too...cooks marshmallows. And the Kobra sight is working really well too!

Man vachss, that AK is hands down oozing awesome, wow :D

The sheer amount of firepower that thing can dish out is drool worthy.

*who cares about weight when you're packing a monster looking like that!

Think RPK

I am interested in the cost ratio of accessories to rifle.

12 year old Norinco MAK 90 $200.00

Chinese and Malaysian 6 position adjustable stock/pistol grip/foregrip/top and bottom rail/rings/ flashlight/laser/drum $500.00

Shooting off 75 rds. out of a wicked black AK..Priceless

Think RPK

Uhh, no. The RPK is a LMG, not an assault rifle...which the AK is. Two rifles that have different purposes.

Just not my style for the AK. If I had a RPK clone, then by all means.

Your money, your gun :)

Sharkhunter, I had a long-barreled Saiga with a harris bipod on it and it didn't look bad, with the skeletonized stock and long scope, was equipped for what I built it for. But, for the standard AK format, I agree, bipod looks wierd.

Personally, I like my AK's stripped down and as light as possible. Minimalist.
If you need all that cr@p to hit your target, you really need to learn to shoot.

That is pretty sweet. But I am also a minimalist and like a bare AK. However, I wouldn't mind having an AK-74 and doing that and having a 47 original.

I think the M4/16's look better with all the tacticool stuff instead of keeping them plain.

I agree. The only accessory on my Saiga is a Surefire X300. I had orginally planned to mount a 6P in a Vltor ring, but that setup proved to be too bulky and heavy. X300 is just right.

I agree concerning bipods on AKs. I don't see the point, personally. Maybe it's just me.

Its a bit much for my taste but if it floats your boat that's all that matters.

This is meant to be extreme. Kinda like the craziness of a Lamborghini countach. Some think it's over the top but hey, that's one mean brute and it's meant to look it.

No wood for this guy

Notice the mark1 bayonet, since I hate the look of the Romanian bayo, I had to mod it.

The RPK uses basically the same mechanisms of the AK and shoots the same round, only it has a longer barrel..and yet you say that is is not a assault weapon? GUNS 101 My friend the RPK qualifies as an assault weapon..
And what, you're basing this on the barrel length?
So if I snap a 30 rd magazine in the RPK is it suddenly "assault worthy" because I am not using in a LMG fashion?

They both have the same purpose, one is capable of doing it at greater distances that's all...they are both "assault style weapons"...and both guns would be excellent squad support weapons...with or without bipods..and the base RPK has a bipod..My gun is just fancier..lol

And yes my gun may be a bit much for some..eh..don't really care..

Old Picture. Have a little plastic on my MAK, but not much. Just enough to be compliant with the stupid 922r rules. I have a different pistol grip and hand guards on it right now (K-Var OD green), and a G2 FCG.

Romanian up top, and a used MAK I bought last year.

Shark is saying that the AKM is an assault rifle (we're using military terms here for military-spec [full-auto] weapons), whereas the RPK is a squad automatic weapon. The RPK essentially fill(ed/s) the same role as our M-249. Would one think of the M-16 and M-249 as being the same? Nope. The RPK just so happens to look like the AKM.

If they're chocolate chip and peanut butter, I'll take the whole durn tray! :p
