What is this bird? (the one thats not a Canadian goose)

It appears to be some kind of domestic duck. Doesn't look like any wild duck I've ever seen.

Very common, just Heinz 57 variety of mixures between domestic and wild ducks. Frequently seen in the area where I live.

When I was a little boy I apparently called them "yuck ducks". I was told that they were just mutts of the duck world; crossbreeds of whatever happened to walk by a horny drake at the city pond.

Some of 'em can be mighty ugly...

Ity is a Muscovy duck and yes every one I have met has been mean.

This one isn't quite ugly enough to be a Maribou, but it appears to be some sort of stork. You probably shouldn't have made friends with it, it's liable to bring you a bunch of kids

Talking of Canadian geese...
Drove past a bunch of them last week & asked my work mate "Aren't geese in season right now?"

His reply:
"Possibly, but not a good idea to shoot them at a golf course in the middle of Los Angeles...."

Its a Muscovy duck. They don't quack but make a hissing sound . We used to have dozens of them on the farm. They taste very good

It does look a bit like those storks on the preggy cards. Didn't make any noise, just waited quietly outside the screen door until I brought the bread and corn. Would eat from my hand but not my sister's.

It is a wood stork. I believe it is on the endangered species list. Used to be fairly rare but have been coming back and you see them just about everywhere now.
