Cousin Mike always has some thoughful insights...
BTW, this article did go on to say that they conceal quite well and was used quite extensively as the primary backup for LEO's in that day. Your insights about the clothes in fashion at the time really hit the target...
Appreciate the replies....

USP9, just noticed that pistol below...Yikes! But, could be viewed as a toy and that would work to one's advantage....

I carry and love my little Colt Mustang in .380; although, I do have to point out that I showed it to my wife and she liked it as well (she could actually rack the slide and pull the trigger--something she could not do with a Kel-Tec P11).

This is a "Girlie Gun"

If your pocket gun looks like this, well...maybe.;)
If not, fugetaboutit. Real men have a gun in their pocket.:D

You're not a girlie man carrying a mousegun unless you get in a gun fight with a woman carrying a mare's leg...

Thanks for the kind words, guys. :)

The more I look at them, the more I like some of these little pocket pistols. Still don't think I'd ever own one, but I said that about Glocks too at one point... Now I carry one everyday. :p

I just think a 9mm the size of a keychain would probably... oh, I dunno... hurt? :D

If I was going to carry a gun for self defense I would prefer my 1911

That said if the situation was that I had to wear a tux or similar I would not feel bad with a PPK in 32 ACP

Better to have a small gun than no gun

3 piece suit/.45xd carry

johndoe1027,
I carry the exact same pistol, the springfield .45xd with 4" barrel in a smartcarry holster...don't need any extra clothing to carry it. I could carry it wearing shorts, no belt and no t-shirt(although i might be arrested for the no shirt thing:barf: ) check out smartcarry.com They have a 60 day money back guarantee if you dont like the holster. Good deep concealment holster, and comfortable.

Thanks a lot for the tip davhina, I'll check that out. My holster for my bigger guns is a spandex/velcro torso deal that is made by Bushwacker. I think I have heard guys on here refer to that kind of holster as a belly band. It's great, I can carry anything I have in it, even my brothers 5" double stack SS 1911. My 3" judge is actually pretty comfortable in it too. Draw time is a lot slower than other holsters but, once again, much better than nothing at all.

I just think that 26 rounds of .45 acp is a lot for self defense. There would have to be a lot of bad guys for me to need that much firepower. You can never be too prepared though.

southernwarrior187,

On a certain online dating site, I've got a pic of me and my P-32 with the caption being to the effect that "Some say that folks who post pics of themselves brandishing huge hand cannons may be compensating for other shortcomings..."

+1 :D In that case I need to down grade from a .380 P3at to a .17 NAA minirevolver:D

.32 ACP devastating?

But it wasn't a "one-shot stop." IIRC he lingered a few days before finally dying.

With guns like the Kahr PM9 that fire a full-power cartridge yet still fit in your pocket (unobtrusively, not totally hidden), there is little reason to carry tiny guns in anemic calibers as primary weapons. I can see them for secondary or very deep concealment weapons, however.

I wouldn't be feeling girley if I carried a 3AT but felt a little funny when I had a Beretta Jet Fire in .25 auto a GF gave me because she wanted a bigger gun.....does that help?
