looking to start reloading for .44 mag ,looking at manuals i see i can use 22 gr of imr 4227 or use 11gr of w231 and be a bit slower and cost roughly 1/2 anyone have a good load for this cal. i will shoot a super blackhawk and a desert eagle

You didn't specify what type or weight of bullet you want to use, but even though you can use 231 for some 44 Mag loads, it is much too fast for normal loading. In most cases you can use your IMR4227 or 296(H110) for heavy loads or Unique or BlueDot for medium to heavy loads. I would suggest one or two good reloading manuals and begin with the starting load and work up to be safe. You will also notice in the manual that 231 is the LAST powder listed for loads that can safely use this powder.

The W-231 load would be more of a light plinker load. (It may or may not cycle a Desert Eagle. I don't know) The 4227 is closer to a full house type load.

There is a big difference between 1100 ish & 1300ish FPS.

What kind of load do you want, and what are your objectives.

Loading manuals and powder company web sites are literally full of 44 Magnum load data information.

I don't think I would rely on what somebody posted on some gun forum.

Fast burning powder do not make the best "full house" magnum loads. IME, fast powders
that drive bullets really fast (Like magnum handgun loads) will erode the forcing cones on
revolvers a lot faster than a slower powder.

The Desert Eagle will not like them and you may have some excessive "sandblast" effect
of the gas system. Stick to the slower powders exclusively for best results.

Sure it costs more, but the "Boom" sounds so much nicer.

I load bullets from 180 grains to 310 grains for my Redhawk with H110.

Since first trying H110, I've quit using any other powder on my .357, .44, .454 Casull, and M-1 carbine.

In the past, I was a big fan of IMR 4227 and 2400. But H110 just performs so much better in my guns, that I abandoned them altogether.

will use 240 gr bullets for target and hopefully hunting , right now just want to find somthing that cycles reliable

Not sure if it works this way in .44 but my understanding is that faster powders are better for light (125gr) bullet .357 loads & slower, like 2400 is best for the 158gr big dogs. The slow powder/light bullet combo is supposed to be the culprit in forcing cone issues.

I could be wrong, of course...

My fastest and most accurate 240gr loads for my .44 mags is with H110/W296. IMR4227 is not quite as fast, but just as accurate. Unique is my choice for plinking. W231, while my go to powder for .45ACP, would be one of my last choices for loading .44 mag for the guns you list.
