So my wife is due to have our first kid on Dec. 30. I have been thinking for the last year or so that it would be awesome to give my first child a rifle on the day he/she is born.
I was going to get a simple single shot .22lr (the "cricket"). However, I am having second thoughts. The cricket is all plastic and cheap. Also, while it would be good to practice on, my kid will soon be graduated to other firearms. I have been looking around a bit and found a really awesome over/under .410/.22lr made by Remington International (https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/14172). I cant seem to find anything on Remington International on the net so I figured one of you would know a little about it. I would really just like to know if these are made in the US and if they are decent quality.
Any suggestions on other rifles would be appreciated as well. I think something in .22 or .410 would be best and either single shot or possibly a bolt action.
Now I just hope my kid likes shooting.....
