Would the question be better asked as how many cartridges?
For 9mm there must be a dozen.

You are, of course, correct. The terms have become interchangeable even though that is inexact.
No one posting here would walk into their LGS and say that they wanted to buy a box of calibers....nor would they say that their pistol magazine holds 15 calibers.
Yet here we are.

Hi...

I load for most of the popular handgun calibers. 9mm, 38Spl, .357Mag, 40S&W, .41Mag, .44Spl, .44Mag, .45Colt, .45AutoRim, 45Colt and .375SuperMag. Most of those in lead and jacketed and at different bullet weights and power levels.

Also set up to start reloading .30/30,.30/06,.308, .25/06, 7mm x 57 Mauser, 7mmMag and .264WinMag(although I have never owned a rifle in that caliber). May start .7.62x39 and.223 soon, as well as 12ga...right now bulk prices on those are making it difficult to justify the cost of tooling up(although I have copious numbers of cases and hulls, as in thousands each).

I have enough components to load many thousands of each handgun caliber and at least a thousand of each rifle round(except .264WinMag).

It is nice to be able to shoot pretty much whatever my son and I want pretty much whenever we have the time for a range trip.

It's funny someone could just load for one caliber say .308 which could be around 40 different cartridges.

7x57mm Mauser
.30-'06 Springfield

Wife recently started shooting 9x19mm and .380ACP, so I guess I'll be adding those as well.

I've been loading .38/.357 since I started in 1990. All of the others have been added within the last 10 or so years.

not too many.

.380
9x19
38 Spl
.357 Mag
30/30 Win
7.62x39
45 ACP
45 Colt

It was fun working up loads for these and some of my favorite loads were developed over 30 years ago!

Keep that press working!!

Current:

Pistol:
.357 Magnum
.40 S&W
.44 Magnum

Rifle:
.405 Winchester
.35 Whelen

Set up for, but not yet loaded:
.45 Colt
.30-30 Win.
.30-06 Sprgfld. (just bought an M1 Garand)

Will probably eventually load for 6.5 Roberts since I have an Arisaka rechambered for it.

Not too many here either, I reckon...
