I have used them when that was all the store had.My loads are nowhere near max though.I"d reduced the powder a tad if u are shooting hot loads,just to be safe.;
Using magnum primers inplace of standard primers where standard primers are called for means you need to start over at the lowest powder charge weight in the manual and work up watching for pressure signs. Other then that, not a problem...
Magnum primers burn a bit hotter and a bit longer than standard primers. They're for lighting harder to light powders and sometimes for lighting powders in low temperatures. However, like The Bushmaster says, you'll have to work up the load again.

Winchester small pistol magnum primers are the hottest primer you can get in that size. Some of the Accurate data used to carry a warning that 10% reduction of the listed maximum load is considered maximum if using WSPM primers. So as others have said, lower your powder charges down to start level or at least 10% below maximum and don't go any higher.
