Ain't fair, denfoote... give us the range report already!
The only info I've read on the M5000 was completely positive, but padded pockets will leave a sweet taste like that. I was hoping one of our own could review the piece without bias... so let's hear it!
I think he started to get ragged when he posted it on Glocktalk so he got mad and deleted it. Having owned IAI stuff in the past, I'd kinda like to hear what he thought of it.
Don't know about denfoote, but I like the M5000 that I boutght 2 years ago. Out of the box it was just as accurate as any of the colt pistols or clones. comes with a throated barrel, beveled mag well, extended saftey, slide stop and mag catch. All of the do dads that the colt should have and does not, and I only payed $300.00 for it. the only things that I havedone is to remove the extended mag catch ( it would hang up on my shirt) and add a full length Wolffe recoil spring guide, for better function. Oh, and a set of Ivory grips just for the hell of it.
I don't know were you could find one. the last time I was on the IAI web site they didn't list any of the 45autos, just rifles ( M1grand, M1carb, M444fal). You mite try looking in the Shotgun News or asking you FFL dealer.
