WLKJR had some issues as I. I find mine a lil. similar. I did best w/B.E. and MG95grn. jhp.Blue 68 has a goodpoint. As ive been using a redding 10X and pro gem. scale, dillion beam, as it being the only 380 I have and cant compare. I no one problem was not being able to find any factory ammo to break in.I also have plenty loads that are loaded w/less powder esp. in w231.I had issues w/cleaning,I used some white lithm. grs. I mean a needles tip worth/two drops rem oil if that. Then things went BUCK SHOT pattern. Dry lube now. I'am going to have to hate to weigh every load? But if I Have to I will.I'am reloading on my T-7 Turret And primeing on my dillion SDB Due to rotater cuff. I love that gun,but its going to take me time.

Thanks for the amplification! :)

I'll report back on my G42 and how the hand loads function as I'll be moving away from factory ammunition as soon as I get loads that function flawlessly with the bullet preference.

Glock 42,Remington 95 grain FMJRN,3.3 grains 231,Remington 1 1/2 primer.Very accurate and function perfectly. As near as i can fiqure, this load is at or slightly under factory specs.

I guess I have 2 threads going on the same vein.

I shot my first hand loads in .380 for the Glock yesterday...We shot 100 gr. Xtreme RNFP bullets with Unique. Loads at: 3.2 gr, 3.4 gr, 3.6 gr and 3.8 gr. all seated to .945.

The hottest load seemed only marginally "hotter" in recoil than factory Fiocchi 95 gr. hardball in terms of recoil - the lightest load was about the same as Winchester "Train and Defend" low recoil .380 in the Glock 42. All rounds were very accurate and there we no signs of over pressure or issues at any time.

We shot 118 rounds of hand load total and a bunch of Fiocchi and Winchester .We had 3 fails to feed all with the hand loads "jamming on the ramp. I blame the bullet geometry but I also have to add that it happened in the first couple mags of hand loads. The last 70 or 80 rounds functioned flawlessly.

I'll probably order some different bullets. I'd like a truncated flat nose 95 - 100 gr plated but I don't find any.

Thanks, Kozzz.

Off topic but *wow* would I love to get a 100 gr. plated truncated flatnose from Berry's in exactly the geometry shown in that .pdf diagram....

Xtreme bullets has a flat point in stock at http://www.xtremebullets.com/380-s/9665.htm

Not sure just how close it is to the diagram though.

Yup...my first .380 hand loads are the Xtreme 100 gr. RNFP bullets. They are not really very much like the diagram. My favorite geometry (what I'm looking for) would be 100 gr. .355 - .356 bullets just like Berry's 124 gr. 9mm flat points...they are much more like a truncated flat nose cone.

All I'm finding in .380 bullet weights ate round noses with a flat point which is OK- probably the best I'll do. Rather have a truncated FP with a wider meplat but I have now found that except in FMJ's which are "out of stock" or discontinued.

I agree with a couple of the above posts. I use HP-38 and Berrys 100gr RN hollow base and they shoot fantastic through my Taurus 738. My wife was hitting bullseyes at 7 yards.

I use about 3.0 gr of HP-38, with a COL around .98. This load has a nice "snap" to it and the extra length of the bullet base seems to help with accuracy.

RNFP EXTREME 100gr. stopped work up W/B.E. 3gr. yesterday grouped well!! 7 yrds. G42 oal was longer also.
