Is it OK to shoot 00 buck through a rifled barrell? Will it ruin the rifleing?

definately wont hurt the rifling but like every-one else said, you will get horrinble patterns,

you might already know this but DONT fire a slug from a choked barrel (unless its a cylinder choke) its common sense but would be surprised

You can fire rifled slugs through choked barrels.

Slugs are probably shot through improved cylinder more than any other constriction. Modified will work too. Full...that's a little tight.

You can shoot any STANDARD birdshot, buckshot, or rifled slug through any STANDARD choke, from Open Cylinder to Full.

Where things start to get dicey is with "Extra-Full" specialty chokes.

As above while you "can" shoot buckshot through a rifled bore, the barrel will lead BADLY and it's very difficult to get it clean. Also, the patterns will be horrible, often in a donut shape with a large hole in the middle.

Rifled shotgun barrels are intended for use with sabot type slugs ONLY.
