I just acquired a P11 in a trade, and the previous owner had a trigger shoe on it, which I'd like to remove. It is attached with two tiny, and I mean microscopic hex screws. I do not own and can't find an allen wrench or screwdriver small enough to fit it. Does anyone happen to know what size these screws are, and if the trigger shoe comes with a wrench specifically made for it? Or does anyone have any home remedies for removing tiny screws?

Probably 1/16" Allen.

Go to any hardware store and ask them to show you to the allen key assortment box.

FYI: I own an AT that a previous owner had fitted a shoe to. Took the gun to KT for an update & refinish, when they returned it they stated they had to break the trigger to disassemble it.........likely it was expoxied, mine was........ so they gave me a new one complete with a new shoe on the side, including the wrench.

Those screws are about 1/32nd........looked for the allen for mine, gone somewhere, like everything else when you need it!

incidentally, that trigger is a hollowed plastic, likely it's been somewhat crushed by the screw tightening and that's why the epoxy was apparently used on mine.

@dogrunner

That's terrible (but helpful) news. Thanks, though. I bought some new allen wrenches, and I believe the smallest was 1/32, but it wouldn't quite work. The head may be stripped out, though. I tried to carefully wedge a small screwdriver under the shoe with no luck. It may very well be glued on there. I e-mailed Kel Tec, so I'll see what they say.

Y'know, you might be able to lightly file the flats on your wrench just enough to gain purchase on those screws. I have done so, but I caution you to be careful if you try it. Likely KT will send a wrench....super impressed with their CS.

I have read good things about their CS, and am hoping they might do this.

They're not very good about returning emails. You might be better off calling them.

Thanks for the heads up. Automated reply said it might be a day or two, so I'll give them that and then call if I don't hear back.
