Dear Larry,

Thank you for your email regarding gun rights. The legislature will undoubtedly pass some form of legislation involving guns this session. My goal is to minimize its impact on law-abiding gun owners.

Best regards,
Clark

Sounds like double talk and damage control.
Replied with "some form of legislation" is not acceptable.
Politicians have double talk down pat.
If this answer was supposed to appease me, it failed.
It did the opposite, actually.

Sounds like he needs a new job next election.

Well, we may be until he reads my reply (if HE reads them and not some trainee). I let him know that if he votes for "some form of legislation" then I will vote for a change in his job description. If he votes "nay" then I will vote "yay" on his ballot. I let him know every pro-gun rights voter will be watching as well.

Well, he replied right away. I am surprised. He seems to be answering his emails himself?
The email is below. It still seems like waffling to me and I will keep an eye on him and others here in CT.

email:

Hi Larry,

What I meant was that those of us who agree with your perspective are outnumbered by those that disagree. Therefore we can't stop everything from moving forward. I'll work to make its impact as minimal as possible. Whether I vote for it or against it depends on what it looks like and I won't know for awhile.

Best regards,
Clark

Dear Senator Clark,

Thanks for your reply.

However, "some sort of legislation" translates to a form of gun control
and/or restrictions. This punishes the law abiding citizens.
I guess you lost another vote next election. This is a hot button for many
of us. I'm sorry you feel you may have to participate in voting "yay".
I will watch the vote polling closely. If you vote "nay" then you will earn
my vote for doing your part for us. Every vote counts.

Thanks again,
Larry
