Paharin,

I think he knows the difference between carbine and mid-length system, and wants to know why so many people here prefer the supposedly inferior(increased preassure curve, more violent/vigorous extraction, faster parts wear, and so on...) carbine system, when the mid-length is "better"...

Then again, I could be wrong...

I lied...I forgot about the VFG that I added. On my rifle it is worthwhile because the upper gets pretty hot after a few magazines. So...I have two accessories...the optics and the VFG. I removed the flashlight when my shotgun became my go-to long gun and have no plans to add another. I didn't count a sling as an accessory though technically I guess it is. :)

purely home defense, i would go with a set of xs big dot sights and a flashlight only, no rails, no optics etc. even a lightweight barrel too.

but since my ar has other reasons for me having other than just home defense, then mine has a VFG, an Eotech, buis, light and single point sling.

Definitely optics and possibly a light.

I am not sure about a verticle grip.
