Don't know if this is common knowledge amongst all y'all, but add Roger Moore to the list of celebrity "anti" nuts.

James Bond star doesn't like guns

Roger Moore regrets the way his James Bond films glamorised violence.

The 007 star says he doesn't like guns, and blinks when one is fired.

He told fans he is "totally opposed to handguns" because of the harm they can do to children.

The 73-year-old starred in Bond films such as Live And Let Die and The Spy Who Loved Me. He now acts as a goodwill ambassador for the children's fund Unicef.

He told the Daily Mail: "I played every role tongue-in-cheek because I don't really believe in that sort of hero. I was only a hero because I had a script that said I was going to win.

"I don't like guns. I blink, and part of acting is trying not to blink when guns go off."

I wouldn't cross the street to shove him in front of a bus...

He's also irrelevant and The Worst Bond Ever, so I'm really not going to lose any sleep over it. ;)

ISTM he falls more under "non-gunner" than "anti-gunner." As I understand it, he simply wants nothing to do with firearms, as opposed to launching a crusade against armed citizens. If that's correct, he does have that right. I suspect this is just another of those everyday ironies where somebody is associated with a part of their job they're not fond of, and it's blown out of proportion because it involves a "celebrity."

Besides, I thought he was better than Lazenby. At least Moore never appeared in French soft-core porn, right?

He never has liked guns and has always been anti I first heard him say it when I was cleaning his stable block out 38yrs ago
I was then a cub doing bob a job to raise club funds at the time he gave me ten bob

Ten bob? Skinflint! He should have given you ten guineas.

Actors that speak out against responsible gun ownership should be prohibited from acting in roles where their character is reqired to handle a firearm. Practice what you preach. By the way, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is my favorite Bond film. I liked George...:D

He's an actor, and you're all surprised that he is an anti! Honestly, I'm surprised when an actor is not anit-gun, anti-freedom, or anti-america.

I start off expecting them to be anti and get pleasantly surprised when they are not.

Whadday expect? He's a Brit, right?

(Apologies to our British members, who I would never refer to as "Brits".)

It must have been pure H-e-doublehockeysticks for him when he starred in "ffolkes" as an ex-soldier heading up an anti-terrorist SpecOps team. Bet he was a "blinkin' fool"! :p

Unfortunately, the best Bond ever - Sean Connery - is also an anti. :(

Last I looked he doesn't have a vote here in the US so his point is????? I don't like japaneses cars either, but I won't tell anyone else they can't have one.

I was listening to a radio interview with Roger Moore
circa 1985. The interviewer asked Moore if he really carried a PPK.

Moore responded "the PPK is not suitable for self defense thats why I carry a concealed .45"

Maybe this was his idea of a joke but it seemed to be a pretty cool response.
