Ruger SR9 slide lock problem

I won a Ruger SR9 at a DU fundraiser and have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but last night I inserted an empty mag and cycled the slide. The slide lock would not hold the slide open. The slide hits the lock and keeps going forward into battery. It is starting to wear a groove into the lock. It seems to me as if the magazine follower is not pushing up on the lock hard enough. What can I do to fix this?

have you tried the other mags that came with it?

if so have ruger send you some more mags, and if it still does it, have them send you a shipping label and send it into them and they will take care you.

the slide lock on my SR9 kept creeping out....had gouges in it....sent it to Ruger and they put a different slide lock in it and after 1500 rounds so far not a problem.....
