ok i have a S&w 36 snub chief special i was told was made somewhere between 62' and 69' on the yoke area across from the model 36 writing it had a "V"stamped there what is this?what does it mean?

As I told you in another thread, all the gobbledygook numbers stamped inside the frame cut are assembly numbers.

The V is most likely someones personal stamp to show he worked on fitting the gun.

I have a 36 of similar vintage, and the crane opposite the Model number looks like someone tried to stamp the Chinese alphabet in there.

Unless you worked at S&W at the time, it would be hard to say what it all means.
