S&W compact M&P info?

Tried some searches but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone have info on the upcoming S&W M&P compact models? Like when they are supposed to be out? And are the going to be chopped down barrel lengths, and grips? Or are they going to be single stacks?

Any info is appreciated, I'd like to give semi-autos another try, and have read a lot of good things about the new full size M&P line. I was looking at a CS9 but have decided to hold out when I read somewhere S&W was making compact models.

That's the first I heard about S&W making a M&P compact model.

I believe that if they do, it's going to be awhile, as they recently released the 9mm model, and might go with the .45 after that.

I did see on the Beretta forum a rumor of a PX-4 compact, which is nice to see (if true).

I have heard of a compact model coming - but so far, I don't think anyone knows any specifics. The 9mm full size just came out. Gotta give it more time.

OK thanks, I thought there was more info out, as I read in 2 different places about compact models coming out later this year. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

The rumor mill went something like this:

S&W Reps ---> Our Ordnance Guys ---> Me ---> You

Word is, it will happen. Probably not until after they have the .45 ACP full-size implemented, but it will happen.
