I was reading the SOG flyer and they have a Saiga side folding buttstock for $99.95.

Looks like it includes the buttstock and pistrol grip and ad says fits any siaga receiver.

Anyone one have this on there Saiga? Do you just take off the stock stock and put the new one on? Or do you need to do any drilling?

For those in michigan, since this is a folding stock, would the installed length make it less than 30 inches and therefore be considered a pistol?

I think that you have to have the requisite number of USA parts in the rifle for this stock to be 922 compliant.

Dont quote me on that, but I recall reading that when I was looking to put one on my rifle... otherwise I dont know why I wouldnt have ordered one :D .

Would 922r apply to this, since this is a sporting rifle?

I thought these guns were importad from russia as is with no changes made in the USA.

Went over to saiga12 and they seem to say.

yes the gun was imported with no us parts, but put the folding stock on it and it becomes non 922r

I have heard about these, and really want one. yes, supposedly they just replace your stock. and yes, they would count for american parts, if american made. so you would still need to get another 8 american parts on it , to be compliant, which isn't hard to do .

The ad says they are made in russia. I don't have a link for the item, it comes from there FFL only monthly flyer they send out. You could just give them a call though, since this is a non FFL item.

Has anyone tried the skeletonized buttstock? These aren't bad as buttstocks go and can be bought from Gilbert's without the 922 worries. I especially like the adjustable cheek piece.

I ordered mine last week.

Too bad they are not American made, to count towards 922. The US made folders with the pistol grip are from Ace, are reported to be tops, and cost ~$190.

If you use the ACE folder/FAL grip combo and the AGP 10 round magazines, you meet 922(r).
