I'm wanting another AK or 2; I have a couple matching Romy G kits in the closet. My thoughts are to build the Romy's with NDS receivers or sell them and buy Saigas to convert.

Would you rather have a converted Saiga or a built Romy G?

Converted Saiga. No offense to NDS but the Saiga receiver is built at the authentic Russian arsenal where the original AK comes from. I'd much rather have Russian parts than Romanian.

Since you already have the kits, I would just been them. Its just simpler that way. I just recently had a custom SBR done with a Rommy G kit on a DCI receiver. Bottom line is with the kits and receiver you can build that rifle until whatever configuration you like barring legalities.

Didn't we just have an eerily similar question?

Oopsie. Havent been spending as much time in Rifle Country must have missed that one.

Main difference would be my Romies would be home brews.

I would build the Romy G kits on NDS/DCI receivers, with custom serial numbers to match your kits.

Saiga; origional russian made, on russian made factory equipment, with all new parts, and a fantastic bbl. or used parts on yours , with what kinda bbl?

If you're going to have to build up the kits anyway, why not just go Saiga and have all new parts from the original AK plant? Also, Saiga's are (in my experience) more accurate than your "run of the mill" AK.

I love my Romy lancaster, and i'm even pretty fond of my HeavyMetal-built Romy G from classicarms, but my converted saiga is MY BABY !!! I hereby cast another vote for Saiga .
