Hi,

I'm new to the forum, glad to be here. Hope it's OK if I lead off with a question:

I recently acquired a used Sauer 202, standard model, in 30-06. It did not come with the stock removal tool or barrel change tool. The U.S. dealer for this item has none in stock, and it seems a replacement may be months away.

Meanwhile, the rifle and stock could really use a good, thorough cleaning. I'd really like to be able to remove the stock and get this done soon as I've got some concerns about the blue finish in areas I can't see.

So, here's my question: While I await a factory tool, does anyone know the tool measurements so I might search for or fabricate a temporary substitute. In other words, does anyone know if the tool is an Allen head bit, or something else, and what bit size and shaft length are needed?

I've not been able to find an answer on the web, and so far have not received an answer to this question from the distributor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jon
