Poker, anyone?
Yep, we'll be playing 5-card stud with a handgun this month (this being THR, we'll not be betting, though ).
Just print out the target and take your best 5 shots, and call your hand. Only one hole per card, though, so if you hit the 10 of spades twice, you get credit for one. Since there are only 5 card per suit and no diamonds, the only flush possible is a straight flush, and there's no 4 of a kind.
In descending order, then, the hand rankings are:
Straight flush
Full house
Straight
Three of a kind
Two pair
One pair
High card
Any stance, 1- or 2-handed, but you must shoot standing, unsupported. You only need to touch the black to count the card. Consider the white numbers X-rings ,which will be used to break ties if need be.
Any handgun, iron sights or scoped. Separate rimfire and centerfire categories, but both are shot at 7 yards.
When posting your target, your hand, and include info about the gun, caliber, indoor/outdoor, 1- or 2-handed and ammo. Multiple entries permited.
If there's enough participation and interest, we can do it again in October, except those who play this month can opt to re-play their original hand by re-shooting some of their September cards.
Good Shooting!
