OK, this has gone on long enough...I've just got to post my OWN "Six Things You Should Know Before Carrying A Gun" list:

1. No pointy-pointy at anything not want pokey-pokey holes in.
2. Handle gun like it loady-loady.
3. Big gun harder to carry-carry.
4. Cleany-cleany gun once in a while.
5. Seeky-Seeky improvement and experience.
6. No showy-showy if carry-carry.

There. I've now joined the swelling ranks of people providing numbered lists of things people have got to know.

I like this list better.

Nice!

GEM related an incident. He did not "fabricate" anything. Just what is silly about that?

Reading is fundamental. I didn’t say he fabricated the story, I said he fabricated the nexus between the story and open carry.

But scraping the bottom of the stupid barrel for ridiculous reasons OC is evil is pretty silly.
"Evil" is your word. I think GEM, and many others, would choose "unwise, in many situations."

So if you (both) agree that it’s silly to scrape the bottom of the stupid barrel for reasons why OC is so “unwise”, then why does he scrape it so? Why does he believe it unwise? He may cite his theories, none of which would ever pass your own level of required proof, but in the end he would still have mere theories (AKA supposition or anecdotal views).

You seem to think so. But I reject your unsupported, purely anecdotal views. You no doubt believe what you're saying, but I won't accept it without far better evidence than you're able to offer.

Short of designing a valid experiment, there is no valid way to conclude whether the claims are valid.
...And without it, all we have is supposition.

Perhaps. Maybe not. But an extremely small number in proportion to the general population, it would seem.

Well, that seems to be about far enough into the weeds for this one.

I don't know why every thread I see on THR where OC comes up goes this way, but it sure seems to.
