Skimmer Trigger for a Glock

My buddy told me about the Haley Skimmer trigger for my glock 23. What are the pros and cons of this. Just want to know before I decide if I want to swap out my trigger

I guess you would have to ask yourself if the short amount of pre travel is an issue for you. If you want a lighter trigger pull then you can accomplish that a lot cheaper. Same for smoother (polished internals). The reset is already short on a stock Glock. It is my understanding that this does not alter that any. The reset is already very positive. If you want a more distinct reset you can do that a lot cheaper.

The con would be if you don't like it, you're out $160 or so. If you want to reduce overtravel, a $20 Ghost Tactical can fix that with very little work. I have two Glocks, one with a 4.5 Ranger, and one with the 5.0 Tactical. To be honest, the trigger pull is not that much different than a standard trigger, except for the overtravel on the Tactical.

Meh, I may eventually try one, but not for $160.

Your best improvements on the G23 are the .25 trigger job, and grab a Wolff RSA with a 19 or 20 # spring.

I dont have any experience with the Skimmer.

The best trigger kit that I have found for Glocks is the Glockworx Fulcrum. Very nice. I dont recommend it for carry though. It had a lot of adjustment points that can become out of whack. The kit I had needed to be adjusted several times throughout use, even with loctite.

Outside of that, I have done several trigger jobs on Glocks. I like to use connectors from Ghost Inc combined with some light file work and the 25 cent trigger job. I also replace the serrated triggers on the compact and subcompact Glocks with smooth faced ones. Then take a rat tail file and trim a small amount of material off the face of the trigger safety. It helps it sit flush with the trigger face when depressed, making the trigger "feel" better.

You can also drill a hole right above the trigger return spring hole in the trigger bar (a drill press is almost required for this). This will shave a few more ounces off of the pull. Heard some say that some Glocks will not function with this modification, so do so at your own risk. If it doesnt work, there is always the original hole that can be used. If I am not mistaken, this is what Vanek does to their trigger bars as well.

Ive got a glock 17 with a 2.75lb trigger pull and no pre-travel. Look up glockworx fulcrum trigger. I have that, their firing pin safety and spring, and their "race" connector. Best $200 ive ever spent. After adjusting, I had to superglue the adjustment screws in because they would work themselves out even with loctite
