I've been thinking back to all the guns I ever had and then for some reason parted with. Just curious what other people regret getting rid of, doesn't have to be just one of course.

I'll start off by saying my .50 Desert Eagle that I for some reason sold to a friend who then sold it without offering it back to me, jerk!:banghead: It'll be a while before I can affoard another one of those:(

Smiff and Wesson modle 41...one of the early ones with cocking incicator.
Should have kept it to pass n to my son as my Dad did to me.
How STUPID!!! :banghead:

My Mother's Colt Commander in Super 38 and her 380 Gov't model. Both were stolen by a treacherous orc that my Father was trying to help. That Commander was a light weight model and would be worht nearly 2K in the condition it was in with its box papers and magazines(not that I would ever sell it if I did have it). I do still have the original recipt dated 12-21-1966. The pistol cost $94.00, ammo was another $5.35. Tax came to $3.97 and a $10.33 service charge for the credit sale. So the grand total out the door was $113.65. FWIW, this was NOT a lay-away. H. Cook Sporting Goods sold my folks a pistol on credit without a major credit card.

Near-mint 1895 Chilean Contract Mauser made by Loewe, sold for a song to a friend because it was too nice to use. What was I thinking:rolleyes:

I had an dbl. trigger anshutz .22 as a kid. I don't remember selling it but I sure wish I had stayed sober that night!

The only one that I ever sold (actually traded) was a Desert Eagle .44 mag autoloader I got back in '86 or so.
Okay, so it really was a further extension of my already enormous p#*$s, it was a hoot to shoot. At the time I had a few other .45's (looking for a Colt .45 1911, but too stupid to know how to go about finding one back then--the internet was not what it is now) and got the Eagle as, well, as I said (testosterone peak, my time of the month I guess). Used my weapons strictly as HD and figured the .44 mag was too powerful for an urban setting (not much chance of a tank attack), so I traded it in on a Sig Sauer P220 (European model magazine release-this was '86 or so).
While I love the P220, that Desert Eagle was just a great novelty piece to start a conversation at the range, and there is nothing wrong with that.

1917 Eddystone 30-06
Springfield M-1 Garand
and the list goes on and on and on...

 You mean people get rid of guns? :what:

I suppose so, or there wouldn't be any old ones for me to buy.

I've never sold/traded a gun. There are a few I regret not buying.

Came back from Germany with a Sauer drilling model 3000 lux. Got broke, had a family to feed and sold it for one tenth its value. I wish I could take that moment back.

For those that do not know what a drilling is , Its a double barreled SXS 12 gauge with a rifle barrel under the rib. Mine was a double 12 with 30-06 and inserts for 22lr and 22 mag. I would give up every gun I own to get it back.

These are the guns I want back. Some I sold to buy others. Some I sold just cause I was born a fool. All I want back.

My Beretta's... The 92, and my little tip-up .25 (was that the Tomcat?). My dad gave me a little .32 Mag revolver I wish I'd held onto as well.

Don't sell guns... you always regret it.

A 1912 7x57 Oberndorf sporter with double set triggers, which had a very good bore. Never drilled and tapped, had a three lead rear, horn grip cap. It shot better than me. Sold it along with some others to get a down payment on the first house.

I've bought, sold, and traded hundreds of guns since then, but that is the one that always bother me. :(

Near-mint 1895 Chilean Contract Mauser made by Loewe, sold for a song to a friend because it was too nice to use. What was I thinking

Yes, what WERE you thinking:what:

I miss an original 1898 Krag carbine I sold due to baby, 1 of roughly 5000. If only I could trade back........:banghead:

US Marine Corps Colt's 1917. The cop who took it after a SD shooting, skipped town with it and several others he snagged from the evidence room. Because he never checked it into evidence, I never got it back. :cuss:

weak moments

Before I became the black hole of firearms ownership I've only let 3 go that I regret and wish had back.
1st. A Browning Hi-Power that the armorer parkerized and fine tuned;
2nd. A Colt AR-15 I bought new in 1977 for $329.00
3rd. A Browning "Sweet 16", 16ga. 26" Modified barrel. A sweet,sweet bird gun.

As a footnote, I've traded off and bought back my Gold Cup 3 times.

I aquired a Remington 725 in .222Rem. that I used for quite awhile on chucks , turkeys ,deer etc.
I traded it for something dumb and I regret it ever since.
