I just finished installing one of the Wolff performance paks on my standard 10/22. Mostly. The hammer spring assembly has me pretty much confounded. Has anyone replaced their hammer spring on their 10/22 (without injuring themselves)? I'm trying to figure out if you have to twist the spring off or do you somehow remove that washer that's at the end of the hammer strut? What tools did you use? Did you stab yourself with a hand tool trying to do it? If so, how bad did it hurt? Seriously though, any help would be appreciated; I'd take it to a smith, but that's kind of like pulling over and asking for directions.:scrutiny:

Put the end of the assembly on a table or wooden cutting board. with one hand, pull the spring down to remove tension from the "washer" on the other end. Slide the washer off, slowly release tension and pull the spring off. Viola. Should only take you about 30 seconds. If your of the tender-foot persuation, use some pliers so you finger's don't hurt.

Let me know if you need some more help.
