After 3 years is anyone sure the list posted is close to being correct? 3 years is a long time in the gun world and government agencies... (after all, this thread is 3 years old)

I have found that with the big LE/Gov agencies they review/update/upgrade every 10 years.

2 years ago a Tennessee State Trooper and me were on the same crash and he said that they switched to .357 Sig in the Glock platform . We still use Glock in .40 .

FYI - Whitman County ( SE Washington State )
Sheriffs Kimber 1911 .45 ACP
Pullman City Police - Glock 17 9m Parabellum
WSU College LEOs, - Glock .40 S&W

Alabama still uses Glock 22 or 23 depending on your hand size. I have seen both on officers.

Vermont state police uses S&W M&P .40 with a good bit of leeway on after market grips.

WV = S&W Model 4566TSW (.45ACP)
I think this is the most interesting one.

While the CA 4006TSW's are probably pretty old, from the days before the M&P, I think these 4566TSW's are new purchases. S&W doesn't offer their metal framed DA auto's to the public anymore, but apparently the tooling is still around to make them, if the right folks ask for them.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but does anyone know what all the State Game Commissions carry? I am wondering if the Game Commissions carry more revolvers and high powered sidearms like revolvers since they'd probably be more likely to put down animals rather than humans.

Negative. Game wardens usually carry a typical service caliber semi automatic handgun because they are more likely to deal with a 2 legged threat than a threat from a wild animal. Game wardens in Texas are also issued ARs and shotguns. If they need to deal with a wild animal, the shotgun is what is used. It doesn't take a .357 magnum to put an animal out of its misery, a 9mm to the head will do just as well (but buckshot or a slug does it better).

I'm not sure about other states, but here in Texas a game warden does not need a search warrant to be on your property. This fact makes them more vulnerable to threats from people. Many people don't even know that game wardens have all the power of a uniformed police officer when it comes to making arrests, they even issue speeding tickets.

On the subject of Game Wardens, I think they have a much greater leeway on what they can carry. My frat brother is a game warden in PA and he carries an issued Glock. I think its a Glock 31 or 32. And .357 SIG is nothing to sneer at.
