Hello folks,
After reading a number of the forum posts, it seems that there are some real experts on identifying older firearms - hopefully one of you can assist with this little gem that I recently acquired.
It is a Stevens tip-up .22LR pistol. It has a 6" barrel, and is serialized 492xx on the octagonal end of the barrel (visible when tipped up), and on the frame under the grips. It has two lines of markings on the left side of the barrel under the rear sight that read "J. Stevens A.& T. Co.", and "Chicopee Falls Mass U.S.A.". The blueing is in very good condition. I also have what appears to be an original leather holster - stamped on the belt-loop is "4756", ".22", and "6". The .22 and 6 are presumably the caliber and barrel length - no idea about the 4756, unless maybe a part number.
I'm not sure if there is any other information that would be helpful - I have included a couple photos of the gun and holster. Any information on this pistol would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks.
Allen
