I picked up a standard TLR-1 last year an was very pleased with it, but I just finally got around to getting another unit for the AR. I gotta say, Streamlight has outdone themselves with these. I was $107 shipped from Amazon, they are US made, and this thing outperforms the $350 Surefire on my AR-10 by no small margin.
If you're looking for a really good weapon light that won't break the bank, I highly recommend the TLR series (1, 1s, 2, 3) for handguns and the TLR-1HP for long guns. Very high quality, high performance lights. And no, I don't work for Streamlight or anything, just decided to try their newer weapon lights after very good experiences with some of their other LED units; I use the 1AAA Microstream and the Nano when working because they're very bright, easy on batteries and small/light enough to comfortably hold in your mouth for extended periods (headlamp or hat lights just don't work well for automotive repair, as they're always pointed slightly off from the deep/dark hole you need to see in, and you bang your head and/or obstruct your view when you try to adjust position).
