Taurus 445 and 450

Hi,
For those who have had experience with both of these which would you recommend more, the 445 (.44 SPL) or the 450 (.45 Long Colt)?

How does recoil and performance compare between the two rounds?

I think the 450 is only offered compensated so will that affect velocity that much? Thanks for any help.

I'm new to this forum but, have been reading for a long time. Just don't get time to everything I'd like to. I registered because I did'nt see any responses. I have a 450 (45 colt) and like it very much. It fits my hands well and is very accurate. The recoil can be quite stout depending on the load but cowboy type ammo is fairly mild. The gun itself is about the size of a K frame S&W, Taurus calls it compact. I have not had any problems except with a lightly crimped reload that slipped out of the brass. It's a gun that carries a big bullit that will leave a big mark.

I own a blued steel 445. I love this little gun. Accurate and easy to shoot.
It is my concealed carry gun when I ever feel the need to carry something larger than my Bond Derringer in .44 mag.

I completely and totally recommend the 445 without hesitation.

I have a 445 2" blued w/o ports. It has proven to be a very accurate revolver with most ammo from 180 gr to 240 gr. recoil with 200 gr bullets at standard sec vel. are mostly easy shooting and have printed very well for POI the old cor-bon 180's I tried were very snappy for recoil and one would need practice to have them be controlable, the 240's do thump you a bit but a little 2" isn't made for that kind of shooting. I played around with some 210 gr bullets with stiff charges of 4227( I won't say how much) and would not do it again the little pocket gun wants to pop right out of your hands , stick with factory spec loads not keith type.
