The Taurus website still lists them as available, though you have to look for them in a roundabout fashion. Many times, the discontinued status of a whole series is rumored from the liquidation and disontinuation of models with certain configurations. I'm told they develop timing problems fairly quickly. CDNN is closing out a bunch of Gaucho models for cheap right now. Perhaps they discontinued certain models.
Frankly, these Brazilians are weird. They spend the R&D money, market the guns, then start discontinuing them before anybody could figure out how well received they are (were). I notice the .44 magnum Tracker snubbie is now discontinued, as is the same gun in .41 magnum. How long have they been out, a year? I would think minimum 3 years and more realistically 5 years before you could accurately gauge the shooting public's response to a model. Unless of course, nobody is ordering them and I've seen a bunch of .44 2" Trackers move at local shows.
