The high road is top notch!!

Maybe it is just the half pint of Vodka talking....but in the short period of time that I have been a High road member...I have been ultimately impressed.

Never in any web-board have I seen so much respect, opinions, and knowledge. Never is there a dispute, or flaming in any thread I have read.

All posts are either seriously informational, or jokingly tougue-in-cheek....and the collective atmosphere of this board is one of brotherhood and comraderie (sp?).... All posts are made with respect...even when opinions differ.

I have been a member of many other web-boards....everything from palm pilots to paintball....and I have never encountered a more closely knit family than I have seen here at THR.

I was a moderator at the (now defunct) highly respected paintball forum named www.shockerowners.org

Even there I did not feel the brotherhood that I feel here. This forum is truly one of a kind.....and I feel honored to be a member....

Kudos to all of you....and here's to the immortality of THR. BTW....I am most dissapointed that I was never a member of TFL...but I have visited the site....and I am happy that the legacy of TFL lives here at the high road....and even more happy that I am able to be a part of it.

I don't have time to post a lot on ANY board but I was REALLY upset when I heard that TFL was ending.

THR, in my opinion, is carrying on the wonderful TFL tradition. I really don't miss it so much anymore because THR provides the same high-quality posts that TFL did. (I guess that is partly due to the fact that most of the TFL gang ended up here on THR).

I have to second that original opinion - I've pretty much stopped reading any other forum. Everbody here's great, it's well-moderated, but I find myself posting less because I'm not sure I can keep up (I tend to be a little reactionary and blunt) Anyway, Thanks to the mods and admins! Since I quit my job, sold my business and began homeschooling my son it was tough not having daily social interaction.

TFL and THR have filled that gap pretty well and keeps me from
going out to the bar after hours to socialize with drunks that don't like guns.

So thanks all for keeping me sane and offering a great place to talk about my favorite pastime/hobby/obsession/

I used to agree with Groucho Marx about not wanting to belong to any club that would have me for a member. TFL and THR didn't have to lower their standards for potential members, but rather raise them so for existing ones that I do feel honored and grateful to be here.

Standing Wolf: I may have misunderstood since I know next to nothing (contentedly) about computers, but if you were referring to the size of the type here, you should be able to easily adjust that. On the setup of my contraption, I just go to "view" in the toolbar at the top of the screen and there're several options for text size listed. If you were referring to something else, then I was being sarcastic and witty (in some way). Ed

Derek .. kudos to you Sir and the ''team'' .... truly you have both maintained the tradition of TFL and in fact added something too. As has been said ... there is an over riding trend toward civility and knowledge sharing, which all engenders a feeling of shared camaraderie.

It is rare I see anything that I'd really call flaming or trolling .. for the most part the vast majority of people here quite simply, ''enjoy one another's company'' ... I can't put it much better.... if I didn't have a board to run myself, I'd be here even more.

I have to agree with all your statements. This place is great. The people in this forum are great and have alot of info. I feel at home here. More so then any other forum I have ever belonged to or helped mod.
