It's that time of year again! Let's see how much quality time YOU spent at the range this year :D

I had an extremely slow year with only 3,058 rounds fired.

I really didn't participate in most of the competitions and contests I usually attend which used to push my round count up into the 8-10,000 range. In fact if it weren't for the rimfire matches (which account for about 400 rounds) I wouldn't have cracked the 3k mark

Shotgun suffered the worst this year, 50 rounds spent on trap shooting and that's it.

Part of the slowdown was simply time but I think economic factors also weighed heavily, especially the fuel costs of getting to and from the range. We're remodeling an old house and that is where the money had to go this year, not in the gas tank or the ammo box.

I had been on a shooting hiatus for a couple of years. So I may have gone a bit overboard but my round count for this year is about 15,000.
Mostly all pistol rounds. Probably less than 500 was rifle. No shotgun rounds.

Mine has been waaaay down from previous years. Ammo shortages, ammo prices, dwindling gun fund all have played a role.

I've shot maybe 4-500 .223 rounds this year. Mostly reloads.

2-300 .308 maybe, all reloads.

200 or so 5.45x39.

1-200 .40&w

1-200 .45acp.

100 9mm. All reloads.

maybe 100 12ga.

Wow! I feel like a real slacker now.

Generally, I try and make it to the range at least once a month and usually burn through 1-200 rounds per trip (depending on what I am shooting). I never bothered to keep a detailed round count, but I would guess I shot between 1500-2000 rounds in 2011.

Im still holding steady at around 20000 or so, with most of that being 9mm.

Home range and I shoot about 5 days a week. I haven't got a clue how much I shoot in a year. Although I recently bought a Ruger LC9 and ran over a thousand rounds through it in about 8 days.:)

I spent way too much money buying guns and didn't factor in feeding them.

pistol rounds : maybe, 1,500. 1 brick of that was .22.
shotgun is usually about 5,000, this year was about 1,000.

I spend a fair amount of weekends at the club, just shooting the bull instead of my guns......:) Not sure how much shooting I'll do next year either. Most of that will be competitive pistol shooting once or twice a month. {I hope}

I can say with unflinching certainty that I shot more this year than in any year past. But I'll never keep count.

So my answer is: Who friggin' knows. :D

Thank you for your service, and hopefully for every bullet you put down range their was an enemy combatant going in the same direction!
And he has an awesome screen name, too!

I've had a terrible year... Lousy weather, two automotive accidents, lousy weather, unemployment, and medical license suspension have resulted in a year with maybe 500 rounds down range, and that's probably a high estimate :(

I intend to do much better next year ;)

Excess of 25,000 this year. So far. I'm going out tomorrow for one last shot at increasing that total (pun intended:neener:)

Lets see...

Attended Designated Marksman school, thats about 5k

Crew served range - another 1k

Ran an urban breach shotgun range - only about 100 rds, but most were door breaching rounds... tons of fun

1-day advanced rifle marksmanship course - another 1K

Annual rifle qualification - 40 rounds... Then burned up about 2k of excess ammo, all tracers. Had to take regular breaks to send everyone down range to stomp out fires.

Then on my own time took out 3 brand new shooters, and I try to make it to the range monthly, so probably another 5k of my own ammo. Mostly .22lr.

All in all about 15k rounds a year. Probably shot a bit more in 2010 because of Master Gunner course, but still a good year :)

EDIT: All you guys with exact round counts... how do you keep up with that?

EDIT 2: I forgot, also spent 2 days as OPFOR, with 7,500 rounds of 5.56mm blanks for my 5 man team and myself. None of it was turned in.

Do demo shots count?

I've been way low this year as well.

.22 lr, about 550
9mm, maybe 500
.357 mag, less than 100
.38 spl, less than 300
.30 carb. 250
.243 6 (two three shot groups to site in)
7mm Rem. Mag. 8 (two three shot groups sighting in and two deer).
12 ga. 150 shooting at clays, maybe 10 shooting at pheasants.

Maybe about 3000 rounds, about a quarter of them shotgun, then assorted rifle and pistol. Pretty slow year, but I did add to my ammo inventory, so I have more than I started with.

EDIT: All you guys with exact round counts... how do you keep up with that?
I use 100 round ammo boxes and have a "maintenance and info" spreadsheet on my firearms that I keep up to date after each shooting session.

I just got into shooting/firearms recently... I've shot 370 rounds through my 1911... Sadly I haven't shot anything through my 1940 M91/30. I don't keep track of what I've shot through range rentals... which I would estimate at about 500 rounds of 9mm and .45 through a bunch of different stuff when I was trying to figure out what I wanted as my first hand gun.

Excuse me if I am still at a lose why anyone would want to list their guns or ammo quantities online for any stranger, newsmedia, stalker or gov't official to see?
