Hi! Does anyone carry the model 60 with either the 2.5" or 3" barrel. If so, how do you like it and how do you carry it? Have you ever pocket carried a model 60? Thanks, Dennis

I have the 3" model 60 and love it. I carry strong side in a Kramer pancake holster under my t-shirt. I do not pocket carry, for me it is a little to heavy and long to pocket carry in a pants pocket. It should work in a coat pocket though. I think the little airweights are better suited for pocket carry.

But anyways it is a great gun and putting full bore .357's through it is a joy.

2-1/8" model in a Don Hume S.O.O.T. leather IWB. I also have a cheap pocket holster I rarely use. The lighter alloy/Ti/Sc guns are more suited to that, unless you've got a really tight belt. :) (Mine's a Rafter-S, fwiw. Best deal out there.)

I don't have the longer barrel, but I do carry my Mod 60 no dash (me and the revolver are dashing enough, thank you very much) fairly regularly.
I carry IWB, I find it a little too heavy for comfortable pocket carry. Either I'm afraid of it falling through my pockets, or in loose pants it flops around way too much for me.

Only thing I don't like is it's stainless. I'm torn between getting a Mak (for something new) or an airweight .38 blued, to replace it for warm weather carry.

I have a Model 60 no dash also that I carry in a pocket holster or IWB holster. It is the 1 7/8" variety though. :)

2 inch stainless

I've got a 2-inch stainless that I can pocket (I did during a backpacking trip last weekend). Love it. It's pretty accurate for it's size.

The Model 60 is simply a classic. The .38 Special is a classic cartridge.

You young guys (and gals) won't know this, but when they first came out it was practically impossible to get hold of one for YEARS......and prices were inflated.

That said, the longer barrel lengths they have these days (and the adjustable sight options available) make this classic into a whole new weapon with some incredible trail gun applications.

We are lucky to have made the acquaintance of this artful and useful bit of weaponry.
