Think about this? (What Places are Inappropriate for Concealed Carry?)

there are a few places i don't carry, not because i think its inappropriate but because its more hassle than its worth and i'm in a low risk environment.

i don't carry at the gym, on the golf course, and when i'm snowboarding. i don't carry at my parents house, per their request. (they're hoplophobes, but hey, they're my parents.)

i carry everywhere else that its legal to do so.

Anybody keep a gun in the shower?
If so,what is it?

You never know...It's loud in there, and if You are home alone,in the shower...all of a sudden You are naked and vulnerable....
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking about this...
Now,don't get Me wrong,here...I'm just askin if anyone has a gun that they keep in or near the shower...not like anybody would say...deck out their bathroom in camo like a duck blind and use a cricket bucket for a toothbrush holder...Or would they...Who knows...There just may be a guy like that...
You never know about some folks....
Hmm...

I have seen some on here claim to have a gun in the shower, I saw another post with somthing about taping a gun to the toilet too.........goofy and silly if you ask me. I say take a chance and get clean!

Too many emotional attacks have already happened with knives chairs and fists for the guys that murdered kids and family members. You cant get a fair trial when a lynch mob of 1 is in the room.

Don't forget the attacks by firearms. Which just goes to prove that the law preventing guns in court only serve to disarm the law abiding.

Depends on how they go about doing it. If its just a law on paper then its not too fair the bg's dont follow the rules. But if its a case of active enforcement like in my area, then I am ok with it. They run you through metal dectors and in some cases physically search you. Also x-ray bags and such. TSA is more friendly than going to the court house.

either way seperate things like I mentioned or positive enforcement of no guns.

I should thing that hardening the bathroom door might be a more practical approach.

Funeral?

Probably, but only if I can carry it well concealed under a sports coat or jacket, but only because I might need to provide protection after the ceremony on the way home. Its very low threat level, but its better to be safe than sorry.

While it might be considered to be giving in to the anti-gun crowd, I would be willing to forego CCW at my own funeral...

This question itself is based on the same concept the anti's use, that a piece of metal has a character.

I am who I am everywhere I go whether there is a piece of metal on my waist or not. So, a better question would be: What places should I be banned from entering. The answer should be based on my behavior and actions.

All bad behaviors have been outlawed for eons, leaving attention craving legislators nothing to do. So they add layers of redundant, ineffective laws based on stuff people may own. We should not fall for this folly.

Like many here, I carry everywhere.

Most of you have read the saying here on THR: "better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6".

In other words, I will make every effort to defend my family. I'd like to think that if I ever need to shoot (and I pray it's never), that it will be a clearly justified shoot. Thus, even if it is on property posted with "No CC" signs, I would take my chances with a jury and hope to be found "not guilty" of any crime (and my family would be alive and well). Versus not carrying and be dead.

My 2 cents.

Personally, I don't walk out and check the mail without carrying. Or go out and put a steak on the grill. If I could KNOW when or where I would need it, I wouldn't go there. But because I can't know, it goes on my belt when I dress in the morning and off when I go to bed at night and if there is somewhere during the day that I must go that won't allow it, I find a way to not go there. I spent too many years on the other side of a badge to believe in the basic goodness of my fellow man anymore, and vowed many years ago that my personal safety would NEVER be up to the good graces and decent instincts of strangers. That may sound paranoid or bitter, it's not....I just refuse to be a victim and if the price for that is to pack 23 hours a day, so be it. So to answer the original question, there is nowhere that I feel is inappropriate to carry. It is NOT a proactive measure, it's a REACTIVE one and should I not have to react during that particular visit, nobody ever need know I have it so where's the harm?

On the off chance you were serious, it's a Ruger Police Six, the fixed sight version of the Security Six. With the rest of the towels in place, you never know it's there. Been there for 10 years now, and it's yet to be "outed". I'm just glad you didn't ask about the one in the kitchen :D

Church ?
The Gym ?
Your grandma's House ?
A funeral ?
A Wedding ?
Snow Skiing ?
Honestly I have carried to every single one of those places EXCEPT a funeral (but the last funeral I went to was my Grandfather's when I was 14).

In fact I bought my wife a KelTec P3AT knowing full well she wouldn't ever carry it, but it makes an excellent gym and skiing gun.

Pretty much I carry a gun anywhere I wear a watch, and its not because I'm paranoid, or just "itchin' to off someone" its because putting my gun on has just simply become part of my morning routine, just like shaving, showering, putting on my watch and grabbing my cell phone on the way out the door.

Places not to carry:

- Swimming pool
- Shower
- Football/baseball field, if you're in the game (insert shotgun formation joke here)
- Inside an MRI machine
- Operating Room (as the patient)
- Skydiving (you wanna land on that hammer spur?)

The shower or swimming might not be appropriate places to carry but for reasons other than personal safety. A free American citizen should be able to carry anywhere.

The post office is not a legal question mark. Carry in a post office is unlawful. There is no question about it.

Really? How come it is legal in my town, along with the DMV and Library? Maybe there IS a question about it if there are people who will push it as they've done here.

I carry everywhere unless I have to leave it in the truck such as at a courthouse or if I'm getting an MRI. Just going to the doctor I carry.

Is it legal to carry? Is my family going with me? If the answer to these is affirmative, I carry. I'm not going to be the guy who watches his family get hurt and stands there thinking "dangit, I wish I had my gun".
