Thinking of .22 pistols

Like I said on a similar thread, I looked at them all (and I do mean ALL .22 pistols) several months ago before selecting my Buck Mark Bullseye.
Highly recommended.

I'm a Ruger fan myself

But if the opportunity presents itself do not overlook the old High Standard semi auto. At our club it still holds the speed record for multiple target matches and several members swear by them.

Get a Buckmark.I bought one of the basic models 4 yrs ago as my second pistol and didn't really know much about guns then. But the thing just shot and shot and is very accurate.Soon thereafter traded my first pistol, a Ruger p93dc cause it had trouble fully closing the slide on, a Beretta 92. Later I bought a used Buckmark Bullseye and it just shoots and shoots. Then I wanted to try a rifle so I bought a 10/22.Total jamamatic unless I shot CCI Stingers. Spent about 2 months working on it w/ a lot of help from rimfirecentral and got it fairly reliable but...traded it on a Buckmark rifle. And FIRST time at the range it shot 350 rnds of Federal bulkpack ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY. And today it shot another 350 rnds w/ only one failure to fire. The moral for me is that:Rugers are cheap and sometimes work-Buckmarks are a bit more expensive but always work even w/ cheap lower powered ammo. I think there is a reason there is SO much aftermarket stuff for Ruger .22's--they need it all!Good luck

Dredging up the old thread , just wanted to let y'all know I got the Buckmark :D

Nice gun , shoots well . Took it to the pin shoot with P95 and had only one malf. in 150 + rounds , cartridge riding up the ramp stopped and required a bump to the back of the slide. I didn't push the mag home a few times but that wasn't the guns fault .

Good advice everyone , very happy with the choice so far , and not pricey at $239, although the extra mag was $23 , about double that of the Ruger.

Thanks for the help.

I have a Ruger MkII Competition model and it is a great gun
I have one as well and prefer it to the other blued models ruger offers,I had a red-dot on it an am considering the scope idea you mention as a better option.

I agree, those mags are a real pain to load especially when that little button that holds the spring down slips and smacks a finger.getting a 3 dollar mag loader solved that.the way the mag catch works doesnt bother me nearly as much as the slide release being too small.Im told one can rectify that by adding a larger aftermarket version.

overall though,I like the design and I like stainless steel :)
