The first picture looks like a pre-M14 prototype. A few pictures down shows a comparison between a .30-06 and 7.62x51. A lot of pictures from the early 50s during the Garand to M14 transition.

That's a great find. The time-lapse images can be useful in training. The other images can show us a time when people didn't view firearms as evil.
