I'm thinking about purchasing a Kahr CW45 online. However, I've never held one, and the gun shops in my area do not have any. I have very small hands, and can barely reach a 1911 Colt trigger. Does anyone know if the trigger reach on the Kahr CW45 is the same or less than a 1911? Any help would be appreciated.

they are different, You will have no problems with the cW45. BUT put your hands around and CW kahr or for that matter any kahr, they are almost identical in reach. You should have no problems.

The cw45 is one awesome handgun...

You may want to try out an XD. The LOP is quite short on the 9mm versions. Enough that I had to sell mine as my large hands couldn't reliably disengage the grip safety.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'll look some more at the Springfield, although I'm still hoping for the Kahr.

chris:

was u referring to the kahrs with the grip safety?? They have no grip safety. I thinkhe was asking abuot the Kahr grip distance and notthe 1911's.

Jocko, you are right. I was asking about the reach to the trigger on the Kahr. I think Chris was saying the Springfield has a very short distance to the trigger so therefore might suit me, and that has a grip safety.

I have a CW40, and I agree with Earl. Long trigger pull, but not bad--just different. My biggest gripes are:

1) Assembly/disassembly much more... inconvenient... than I'm used to with my other pistols.

2) Magazine falls out quite often. I understand that's a known problem that can be easily fixed by Kahr. Haven't gotten around to talking to them yet (just got it last week).

3) Mine tends to not go back into battery. Happens about one shot in 10. May just be limp-wristing it, though--never shot a gun this compact before, and that may be throwing me off.

For a CCW, though, it's VERY concealable. For now, the jury is still out for me--but most others I've talked to really like it.

sorry about that chris. yup reading it slower helps!!!!!

riccrouch. trigger pull length on a kahr is 3/8". not as loooooon gas we think but certainly longer than a glock or a M & P Kahrs striker at best is maybe 20% precocked where as a glock is 50+ precocked and my Smith M & P is probalby90 % precocked, almost like a single action even, all three are striker fired but certainly all 3 have different trigger lengths. The glock and Smith have the hinged trigger safety, where as the only real safety on yor kahrs is that looooong trigger, .

Some shooters never get use dto the looong trigger on kahrs either, as smooth as they are even. I shoot my G19 alot better than both of my kahrs but my pM9 ride sin my front pocket 24/7 which my g19 can't even get close to doing.
