univeral background check system overload?

I am not sure if I have already read this before.

Maybe I don't see the bigger picture but suppose "universal background checks" like feces, do happen.

With 80 million gun owners and 300 million firearms in this country (numbers I see thrown around every day) suppose the gun owners in this country just started selling and trading guns among ourselves at one a day, several a week? Maybe the selling and buying price is 1 cent, or one dollar. Sell it then buy it back, repeat. Form gun buying clubs?

Would such a system be overwhelmed? Crippled?

Such a plan isn't going to happen, because you couldn't get that many people to participate in that kind of silliness. Besides, the folks pushing the universal background check don't care if the system is overloaded or not. They're motive is to make felons out of millions of voters who typically don't vote DemocRATic. They want us to be felons, like so many of their voter base.

My understanding is that the system is overloaded now with people buying firearms in anticiapation of future bans.

It's about power. The politicians don't give a rat's butt that kids are killed in some school. It just gives them a chance to pass more anti gun laws. They don't even care that the laws are broken. They just want the power over you to come after you if they decide to.

The "the Lautenberg Amendment" is a good example.

If a person was ever "convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence", no matter how many years ago, they can not own a gun. For a minor misdemeanor 30 years ago you are a felon today by owning a gun. There are probably many thousands of people that are felons and don't know it.

Now days, domestic violence, with a gun happens all the time but have you ever heard of the Feds doing their job and charging these people under the Lautenberg Amendment?

A univeral background check system won't work because we won't do it and the government knows it but they don't care. They just want the power it gives them over us.

Sort of a "denial of service attack." All I can see that doing would be to cause the system to shut down and deny thousands of gun buyers the ability to legally acquire their firearms.

You can bet the new "universal" law will "improve" the current system by eliminating the "OK to sell if no denial after 3 days" clause.
