Wanting to buy a higher end firearm

I like .40 but I love 10mm. I don’t see why it’s not used more as a service round
Excessive recoil and double stack mags for it necessitate a grip that is too large to be comfortable for smaller hands. Both of these issues were addressed by reducing the powder charge a bit and shortening the case, thereby inventing the .40S&W

1911 should be .45. .38super is a fossil. 9mm 1911's have at least ten times more issues than any other 1911. 10mm is fine. I recommend the Dan Wesson Valor, TCP, or Specialist. Black Duty Treat only. And Guncrafter Industries, house melonite as well.

9mm, but high end? The CZ Ts2. CZ Shadow 2. CZ Czechmate.
I guess that's why 9mm 1911's never caught on.

This is my problem free Dan Wesson 1911 Commander in 9mm.

Small Hands and Small Recoil control! lol! They should have a choice of 10mm or .22 Short

I've decided to go with 9mm for whatever 1911 I get.

Still in love with the Rapide Black Ice over everything I have seen. Change my mind?lol
Local shop might get a 9mm Rapide in tomorrow. I'll have to go check it out

not a 9mm 1911… that doesn’t make sense, get a .45 or 10mm. Now 2011 9mm makes sense

If I had a butt-load of money for high end application a Nightmare fastback would be my 1st score.

Soon to follow would be a Wilson double stack 1911 type platform.

My high end may differ from yours.

Not sure what 1911 to consider for $1k ish or less (Or if anything there is worth it) 9mm or 45 only for the 1911.

How about this for under $900? https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/56645

Am I missing something? I just looked it up and it's $1,200.

The Rapide I want is $1600 lol

Browning HI Power Centennial or a Remington Wingmaster Bicentennial, or a Remington 870 worked over by Scattergun Technologies/Wilson....

Carrying a Fancy Gun in a Fancy Car! < Life Goals!

I know this was in fun, but think long and hard about carrying a fancy gun. God forbid you have to use it, it is going to end up in a property room, in a box, likely for years. And sit there just like when you handed it over at the scene. Wet or mud on it, you bet and it will stay there.

if you have to use your firearm in self defense or defense of other. Your $4,000, $6,000, $10,000 firearm will be the lease of your worries. Prepare for $100,000 in legal defense fees and your life turned upside down. That’s why I cold hardly endorsed USCCA for liability insurance

I am going to circle back to the watch thing, as

All true, but as we are talking about an expensive gun, and the carry subject came up. Just pointing out you will likely loose it.

I've been thinking, a lot of what I have are budget builds. They all go bang are do what I need them to just like more expensive stuff. However, there's just something about owning the higher end stuff I suppose. I also own brand like Remington Mossberg, Stag, Springfield, etc so I don't have a safe full of only inexpensive stuff.

I haven't narrowed it down to what type of "higher end" firearm(s) I am after. I likely won't make it a standard AR, but I could see it end up being some sort of AR pistol. Shotgun? Possibly, but my shotguns are what I shoot the least.

I want to keep it 9mm, .223/5.56, 22LR or .40 S&W. I would consider .45 if it is a 1911, but would I be fine with a higher end 9mm 1911 or should that be .45 no matter what?

I know I want a .22LR lever gun & 1911.

A 9mm 1911 is on my short list! I own 3 1911's in .45acp and would love to have the accuracy and functionality of a 1911 in a double stack 9mm.

I am not into AR's. The high end AR builds that I have seen come up for sale are no where near what the owner paid for the individual parts. I would guess any high end AR would loose money if you ever wanted to sell it.

Springfield XDm's are great pistols. I prefer 1911's for a target/range pistol but the XDm's are excellent home defense / carry pistols.

I left it there. I am really set on a Rapide Dawn in 9mm
I have a 2011 9mm (double stack 1911 with 2 part lower with plastic grip) And it shoots very fast and accurate. The one thing I see wrong with 1911 9mm is capacity. 9rd’s in a 1911 with good trigger will go fast
