PS I hope that this is a joke, although, IMHO, if it is a joke it is in bad taste.

Well I am glad that it was a joke.

brighamr I think you should consider seeking medical help as soon as possible.

You have an acute case of fecaliths in your Circle of Willis.

Scalia & Souter bobbling maybe.
Not a chance. The CJ picks the majority/minority opinion writers the Thursday after oral arguments. And I bet you could count on one hand how many Justices wrote the majority opinion in a case and then switched their vote to concur with the minority. ;)

To clarify. the CJ picks the opinion writer for the side he votes with. The senior judge on the other side (whether that be the majority or the dissent) picks the opinion writer for that side.

But the CJ and the senior judge on the dissent side can choose themselves to write the opinion, if I'm correct.

No! No decision on Heller! I can't take it any more! Scalia is holding up our liberty!

I wonder; is that maybe a good thing? It says Scalia's opinion is a majority opinion. Is that a clue, perhaps, to the eventual outcome?

Nope, but scotusblog wrote: "The only opinion remaining from the March sitting is Heller. The only Justice without a majority opinion from that sitting is Justice Scalia."

Which could be interesting...they're waiting till the last possible moment to release it...

I'm going to go crazy waiting for this to come out :p

Tom Goldstein - The Court has announced that it will release opinions against at 10am Wednesday. Because seven opinions remain, it will almost certainly have one additional day. Based on past practice, that day likely will be Thursday.

Oh, are you kidding me! Well, that's kind of ironic anyhow. My horoscope yesterday said, "now is not the time for celebration, save your money until a later date".
